RS Microscope
The RS Microscope represents a true breakthrough in Raman microscopy. It is the only completely integrated microscope system in the marketplace. As opposed to competing systems that occupy an entire desktop and cost several times more the RS microscope is portable enough to be used in the field.
The unique self contained instrument features components found in our top-of-the-line Aspire system, including a TE-cooled back-thinned CCD array detector and our newly developed RSIQTM software. The entire optical train has been designed to maximize to achieve an industry leading 80% collection efficiency of the Raman signal. This newest system represents the culmination of several years of prototype design and testing.
Functionality is controlled by a laptop that is able to control the movement of the microscope stage with a precision of less than 1 micron. A parallel optical path allows the operator to view and capture visible light images while scanning.
The RS microscope meets stringent USP Monograph 1120 requirements for resolution, sensitivity and stability. It comes with RSIQ software that operates the spectrometer and performs IOQ with one touch test and qualification.
Integrated Design. Unlike other Raman microscopes that are mated to an existing optical microscope the RS Microscope was designed from scratch to be one complete unit. The result is a simplified, rugged design that exhibits maximum optical throughput.
Sensitivity. The RS microscope features a TE cooled, back-thinned detector array and a Raman filter sampling module for sensitive detection.
Compact and Portable. As the most compact Raman microscope on the market it measures 8¡±x11¡±x14¡± and weighs less than 8 lbs. Its small footprint, rugged construction and ergonomic design allow it to be carried just about anywhere and set up in seconds.
Simplicity of Operation. The newly designed RSIQ software allows true point-and-click operation. Sample spectra, including automatic dark current subtraction, takes only a matter of seconds. Background subtraction can minimize fluorescence and Rayleigh scattering.
Adaptability. The optional QUALTM software enables the user to place thousands of reference spectra at one¡¯s fingertips by reading and storing any of the commercially available spectral libraries that conform to the universal SPC file format. The user can create one¡¯s own libraries. Spectral matching takes only seconds. The optional QUANTTM software offers a comprehensive set of chemometric tools to allow the user to quantitatively determine concentrations of mixtures.
